There are two families of Metrolog hostile environment recorders:

- the Sterilog®, multi channel recorder capable of recording pressure and up to 12 temperatures.

- the Microlog®, pressure and temperature miniaturized recorder.

The Sterilog¨ is a multi-channel (one pressure and up to 12 temperatures) recorder and has proved increasingly  successful since its introduction in November 1995. It has been used or purchased by various hospitals, sterilizers manufacturers and service companies.

The Sterilog® complies with the requirements of the European standards (En285 and En554). Its metrology and operating temperature specifications are unique in the market. Ease of the use allows any technicians or sterilization personnel to use it without need of a specialist.

The maintenance is extremely simple since it only requires a change of battery (which can obviously be done by the user) every 120 to 150 sterilization cycles. The calibration needs to be done only once a year or, in the case of very intensive use, twice a year. Calibration checks can,of course, be performed  at any time.

The Microlog® is a miniaturized pressure and temperature recorder which has been designed to record the sterilization parameters at the heart of the process. Its metrology is the same as that of the Sterilog¨ but its dimensions (58 * 35 * 21 mm) allow it to be located inside a pocket or a container.

For steam sterilization, combining the Sterilog and the Microlog® allows complete control of the process. The Sterilog®, with its multiple temperature sensors, controls the whole volume of the sterilizer while the Microlog¨ checks that the steam reaches the heart of the load (inside a pocket or a container for example) correctly and satisfactorily.

The applications of the Sterilog® and the Microlog® are not limited to sterilization but,include all hostile environments where the precise knowledge of the pressure and temperature is important.
